What does Safe + Sonder Vans mean?

Sonder is the realization that each random passerby is living a life as vivid and complex as your own.

Meaning that we all have trials, triumphs and failures. We all have relationships, emotions, and fears. We all have our own journeys and our own stuff; our own complexities.

Sometimes it is easy to feel like you are alone and shadowed in this big world, but if you were to sit and dissect everyone’s mere existence, and what’s beyond the surface, you would come to the beautiful euphoria of Sonder. And for us, that simple realization makes us feel completely safe and sound. Safe and complete. Safe and whole.

Safe in the sense that we are not alone. Safe in the sense that no matter where we travel to, no matter where we end up, the people are the same. It makes us feel complete in the sense that no matter how broken, confused or unstable we feel that we are, we are complete in our own beings. And that alone, makes us feel whole. Oddly, it is comforting to know that there are people just like us who are navigating their way through life, one day at a time.

Traveling allows us to dig deeper into the realization of Sonder and gives us hope that we can offer empathy and love to whoever comes our way.
